About the Artist
Michelle is an illustrator and artist based in northwest Indiana, where she lives with her husband and sons. From a small studio tucked inside their rural home, she creates work surrounded by the rhythms of everyday life, raising chickens, practicing yoga and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and catching every opportunity to spend time boating on Lake Michigan.
Her artistic voice is shaped by a deep appreciation for traditional, hand-drawn techniques. Michelle loves the challenge of transforming full-color scenes into expressive black-ink illustrations, using simplicity to reveal emotion, detail, and story. In an age of rapidly advancing AI, she finds even greater meaning in the imperfect, human beauty of pen-to-paper craft.
A passionate foreign-film lover and mangrove-forest wanderer at heart, Michelle draws inspiration from quiet moments, thoughtful storytelling, and the natural world. She illustrates children’s books and creates finely detailed home-portrait commissions, each piece infused with warmth and intention.
Michelle dedicates her work to her beloved Pipa, who taught her to make the world a better, kinder place, and whose influence continues to guide every line she draws.
